Khurushkul union is close to Cox’s Bazar town, with the union council office located about 7.5 kilometres away. Former chairman Abdur Rahim Master said the eastern side of the union is entirely covered by protected forest, with the sea to the west, a river to the south, and Chowfaldandi union to the north.
